Restoration Church
Statement of Faith

We Believe

  • WE BELIEVE in the Divine inspiration of the accepted canon of the Scriptures as originally given. 2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:20-21

  • WE BELIEVE in the Eternal Godhead who has revealed Himself as ONE God existing in THREE persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit: distinguishable but indivisible. Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14.

  • WE BELIEVE in the creation, test and fall of man as recorded in Genesis; his total spiritual depravity and inability to attain to Divine righteousness. Rom. 5:12, 18

  • WE BELIEVE in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of men, the eternal Word of God that became flesh, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. Luke 1:26-35; John 1:1, 14, 18; Is. 7:14, 9:6.

  • WE BELIEVE Jesus Christ lived a sinless life as a man, led by the Spirit of God, was crucified for the sins of the world, was buried, and rose from the dead on the third day. I Cor. 15:1-4; Rom. 4:25; 2 Cor. 5:21

  • WE BELIEVE in the bodily ascension of Jesus to heaven after personally appearing to His disciples during a period of 40 days. Today, He is seated at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for us. Luke 24:30-31; John 20:19; John 21:1; Acts 1:9; 1 Cor. 15:5-7; Eph. 1:20; Rom. 8:34, Heb. 7:25

We Believe

  • WE BELIEVE all are born with the nature of sin because of the fall of Adam and Eve. As a result, all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, with no ability of their own to rectify this condition. Therefore, through the spiritual new birth, eternal life is received by grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. John 3:16; Eph. 2:8-9; Heb 9:12; Rom. 3:21-26; Rom 5:11

  • WE BELIEVE in water baptism by full immersion, as a public testimony to the inward work of the Spirit of God as commanded by Christ. Our old sin nature is dead and buried, and we’re raised to walk in the newness of spiritual life. Matt. 28:19; Acts 2:34-36; 19:1-6. Rom. 6:3-4

  • WE BELIEVE that it is our spirit that is born-again. Therefore, every person that receives this gift of salvation by faith begins the process of sanctification, which is the saving of the soul. The ultimate goal of sanctification is a life that emulates the life of Jesus in thought, word and deed. It is Jesus living through us. Rom. 12:1-2; 1 Thes 5:23; Jas 1:21; Gal. 2:20

  • WE BELIEVE in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as an experience subsequent to salvation, with the scriptural evidence; namely speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. Acts 2:1-4; 8:14-17; 10:44-46; Gal. 3:14-15

  • WE BELIEVE in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit as listed in 1 Cor. 12-14; as manifested in the Early Church.

  • WE BELIEVE in the Spirit-filled life, a life of separation from the world and perfecting of holiness in the fear of God as an expression of Christian faith. Eph. 5:18; II Cor. 6:14; 7:1.

  • WE BELIEVE in the healing of the body by Divine power, or Divine healing in its varied aspects as practiced in the Early Church. Acts 4:30; Rom. 8:11; I Cor. 12:9; Jas. 5:14.

  • WE BELIEVE in partaking of Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, for believers. I Cor. 11:28-32.

  • WE BELIEVE in the future, premillennial second coming of Jesus. At His coming the dead in Christ will rise first, then those surviving will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. This happens immediately after the Antichrist’s great tribulation but before the great and terrible Day of the Lord’s wrath. Matt 24:29-31; 1 Thes 4:13-18; John 14:1-3; 2 Thes 2:2-3; Rev 6:12-17; Rev 7:9-17

  • WE BELIEVE in eternal punishment for unbelievers. Mk. 9:43-58; 2 Thes. 1:9; Rev. 20:10-15.

  • WE BELIEVE in the reality and personality of Satan and the eternal judgment upon him and his angels. Matt. 25:41; Rev. 20:10-15
